Reftek RT-130 dataloggers, pictured above, are regularly used on PASSCAL-supported experiments. The data collected from the RT-130 are now archived in a new PASSCAL-supported archival data format known as ph5. Data archived as ph5 may be made available as SEG-Y gathers or as PASSCAL SEG-Y trace files during initial processing and can be requested in these formats from the IRIS DMC. Please review the data and meta-data requirements to archive your active source data.
Contact the data_group [at] passcal [dot] nmt [dot] edu (data group) for ph5 processing documentation and assistance with data archiving process, if needed. Be sure to include your IRIS DMC Assembled Data Set ID and experiment nickname in the subject header of your email.
Those familiar with DAS, geometry and shot files will find meta-data upload into a ph5 file convenient as PASSCAL-supported software is available to convert and upload their contents.
Data processing may be summarized as follows:
raw data upload
meta-data organization and upload
offset and timing correction calculation and upload
receiver orientation and response information upload
