Texan Data from Flexible Array Experiments
We suggest the Principle Investigators adhere to the following procedure to facilitate efficient data processing and archiving of their Flexible Array Texan-collected data.
Raw Data:
- Send PASSCAL the raw data on an appropriate media (e.g. DVD or USB hard-drive).
- Maintain a copy of the raw data locally, at least until archiving is complete.
- Please include a brief explanation of the data organization on the media as it is imperative for efficient processing.
Meta-data:
Seismic Source (Shot) Information:
- ID
- date and time
- location (latitude, longitude, elevation, WGS84 datum)
- type of source
- size, if applicable (in kilograms or seismic magnitude)
- depth below the surface in meters
- vibrator sweep information, if applicable
- comments, if applicable
Receiver (Station) Information:
- ID (station name)
- location of station (latitude, longitude, (or UTM), elevation and datum used)
- serial number of receiver (data logger)
- receiver manufacturer and model number
- sensor manufacturer and model number (include response information if applicable)
- comments, if applicable
