Descr: This project will focus on studies of the crustal and upper mantle structures, the mechanism of intermediate and volcanic earthquakes, the possible subducting activities, and the earthquake prediction in Northeast China. This is the extension of the existing one going on in China now (Bob Greschek went for the initial installation two years ago). Dr. Ray Willemann, the Senior Technical Advisor NNSA DOE (202) 586-2580, had informed us more than 2 months ago that he had negotiated with Jim Fowler to extend our loan of the 10 instruments till July 2006.
