Descr: Uncover earthquake hazards in the Las Vegas valley, and mitigate seismic risk through mapping geologic, geotechnical and seismic components of the valley. The seismic component of the project entails numerous (approximately six) short seismic reflection profiles over urban faults to be acquired over the summer months using a mini-Vibroseis. Data will be interpreted and used for seismic hazard evaluation and to determine possible fault trench sites.
