Descr: Changbai volcanoes in Jilin Province, China, were active in this century. The area overlies the deep part of the Japan Subduction zone. Preliminary magnetotelluric soundings show a zone of high conductivity at about 20 Km. The State Seismological Bureau is planning to conduct an active source imaging program in the area. Our porposed broadband deployment in the area is designed partly to complement their imaging effort and partly to use this opportunity to study the deep part of the Japan subduction zone.
