Descr: The project seeks to investigate the variations in site response in the Seattle area by deploying an array of 100 3-component Refteks for 3 or 4 months in the winter of 2001-2001. During Dry SHIPS and Kingdome SHIPS, teleseismic events were recorded that provide evidence for amplification of the seismic waves by the Seattle basin. Seattle SHIPS seeks to build on these successes by recording more teleseimic and regional events over a dense array of instruments.
