Descr: Since Dec. 1st, 2001, Cotopaxi volcano is showing a very level of seismicity, composed mainly by long- period events and tornillos (long period events with very harmonic tails). These kind of events are linked gas-exolution in a high impedance media and were the precursor of Galeras, 1993 eruption.
