Descr: This is an active-source seismic experiment aimed at defining the crustal-scale rift architecture of the Gulf of California. The experiment involves 4 main onshore/offshore transects across the Gulf of California with ocean-bottom seismometers offshore and Refteks onshore recording offshore airgun shots from the R/V Maurice Ewing. Onshore deployments will occur on the Baja Peninsula and on the mainland, and will include 15-20 instruments per transect per side (i.e. on each margin). The onshore arrays will be rolled along from south to north, with shooting on each transect lasting ~10 days.
