Descr: An operator of a caliche pit near Lubbock has informed us of some blasting that he will be doing soon. He will allow us to have some control in his blast design. We plan about ten 500 to 1000 pound blasts. We will record these blasts in one day and stack the signal from each seismometer to. We plan a 50 km deployment of 100 Texan seismic systems across the Matador Arch (an uplifted Paleozoic block in the subsurface). We will interpret refracted energy in the upper crust and we hope to resolve Moho reflections after stacking.
