Descr: Title: Continuing study of internal structure, dynamic rupture and post-earthquake healing of the Hector Mine rupture of g fault-zone trapped waves Short description of project: We shall deploy dense linear seismic arrays of 60-80 PASSCAL REFTEKs along and across the rupture zone of the 1999 M7.1 Hector Mine earthquake, at Twentynine Palms, California in 2004 Fall to record fault-zone guided waves generated by explosions detonated in the the rupture zone. The data will be used for additional details of the internal structure of the rupture zone, dynamic rupture modeling, and monitoring of post-seismic fault healing.
