Descr: In addition to utilizing data from existing broadband stations, there will be a series of short term deployments of portable broadband seismometers over an 18 month period. This deployment will be intended to improve constraints on the lateral distribution of anisotropy over the transition from thick cratonic lid to shallow asthenosphere observed in the northeastern US. It will aslo address the problem of resolving the distribution or anisotropy between the different mantle discontinuities and between the crust and mantle.
