Descr: This is a cooperative project between the USGS and the Panama Canal Commission to evaluate the seismic hazard at Gatun Dam (which was built about 1900 to dam the lake that permits operation of the Panama Canal). This phase of the project will monitor seismicity for three months in the vicinity of the Dam and near several active faults in the area.
