  • Experiment Name: Shallow Shear-Velocity Variation Across the Reno Metro Area
  • PI: Louie
  • Email: louie@seismo.unr.edu
  • Sponsor: UNR
  • Inst: UNR
  • Start_Date: 9/1/2001
  • End_Date: 10/1/2001
  • Lat: 39.515
  • Long: -119.815
  • Texan: 35
  • Descr: A 300-500 meter array of 15-30 Texans will leapfrog along a 15-km E-W transect across the Reno metropolitan area. The arrays will record several 1-minute microtremor records at each layout. Records will be analyzed with a p-f transormation for Rayleigh dispersion curves. Dispersion curves will be modeled for Vs to 150 meter depths, and the scales of lateral variation in shallow shear velocity assessed.
