  • Descr: The NIGHT (phase II) project is designed to compliment an earlier experiment (Jan - Feb 2001). We propose to repeat the shooting of 4 shot holes into an array of TEXANS deployed east-west and north-south from Taupo. The aim of the project is to image crustal structure under the central North Island - astride the Pacific/Australian convergent plate boundary. We propose to set instruments on continuous recording for 2-3 days while shooting takes place.
