  • Experiment Name: Speculative Experiment on Surface-Wave Sensitivity to a Shallow Gas Reservoir
  • PI: Louie
  • Email: louie@seismo.unr.edu
  • Sponsor: UNR
  • Inst: UNR
  • Start_Date: 12/3/2001
  • End_Date: 12/5/2001
  • Lat: 39.25
  • Long: -122.25
  • Texan: 45
  • Descr: Short description of project: 45 Texans in a 2-km array will collect 1-6 hours of microtremor data over a natural-gas reservoir in the Sacramento Valley of California. The array will cross producing and non-producing wells. Rayleigh-wave dispersions from the two wells will be examined for any evidence that surface-wave data can distinguish the two sites. This experiment will use only the PASSCAL equipment currently on loan to UNR.
