(This was originally written for RH 6.2 so some selections may appear in a different order)
1) Insert boot floppy and cdrom and start the computer.
2) At boot prompt hit return.
3) For 'Language Selection' pick 'English'.
4) For 'Keyboard Selection' pick 'us'.
5) For 'Installation Type' select 'Install Custom System'.
6) For 'Disk Partitions' create a '/' partition of 110MB, a /boot partition of 20MB, a '/usr' partition of 3000MB, an '/opt' partition of 400MB, a 'swap' partition of 128M, and whatever is left as the '/home' partition.
7) It is best to format at least the '/', and /boot partitions.
8) For 'LILO Configuration' choose the defaults. Unselect the 'Use linear mode'.
9) For 'Hostname' use the hostname written on the bottom of the computer or pick your own.
10) For 'Mouse Selection' choose 'Generic - 2 Button (PS/2)', 'Emulate 3 buttons'.
11) Time zone selection: 'Hardware clock to GMT', 'GMT'.
12) Root password: 'redapple', or choose your own.
13) Add user, 'field', with a password of 'passcal', or choose your own.
14) For 'Authentication Configurations' choose defaults.
15) For 'Package Group Selection' choose 'Everything'. There is a single selection at the bottom of the list for 'Everything'.
16) Create Bootdisk: yes.
17) The install program should be able to determine the correct video chipset on both the Sonys and Toshibas.
18) Do not probe! This will cause the Sonys to hang.
19) The monitor is an LCD 1024X768 that can do 16 bit color in most cases.
