HOW TO PREPARE FOR TRAINING AT PASSCAL

Congratulations of the funding of your project! At the instrument center we look forward to working with you during your training and throughout your project. This page describes how you can best prepare for PASSCAL Training.

Information and Material You Will Need to Bring

For projects that use the PASSCAL database to archive data, the training takes 3 days. We taylor each session to the experience of the group, but our nominal agenda is

Day 1 AM Experiment Planning Meeting
Day 1 PM Hardware Training
Day 2 Hardware Training
Day 3 Software Training
Data Archive Training

Please peruse the Planning Meeting Agenda before leaving for training. You will probably want to bring some maps and other visual aids for the brief presentation of your project's scientific mission, plus your group will need to provide information on

  • Project personnel
  • Site planning
  • Desired hardware (includes computing)
  • Acquisition parameters
  • Deployment, servicing, demobilization and shipping schedules
  • Shipping addresses

If you have any questions, please email us at passcal@passcal.nmt.edu
