MOLITERNO

We went up to Moliterno, because its position was close to where we had planned to put a site, and because an INGV site had been previously established near the town.

The municipio was a very nicely restored building.  We looked at the small room entered through the doorway on the right, but the outer wall of the room was adjacent to the main road past the building, and with no windows on that side of the room and the way the building was constructed on this side getting a GPS lock was going to be a problem.

The town was watched over by a large castle...

...and a large church.  This was the street that ran past the municipio.  Because of the this street we did not put a station here.  There was a bit too much traffic which would have generated noise for any station.  It is possible that others returned to Moliterno and placed a station somewhere in the area after I left.

Below is the Chiesa Di Santa Anna in the town of Montesano which was on the way back down to the autostrade from Moliterno.  This was one of the more visually interesting churches (on the outside) that I saw while I was in Italy.  It was made from reinforced concrete and every bit of the surface was quite intricately detailed.  It was built in 1954-1959.  You thought it was older, didn't you?
