IF THE ROADS DON'T KILL YOU...

The condition of the roads for most of our road trip were pretty good.  But when they got bad they got really bad.  It took a few hours to cover one 20 kilometer stretch of road through the mountains to the west of Xining.

These truck drivers weren't stopping to talk to each other.  They just wanted to get by each other.

As long as you stayed on the road everything was OK.

Some people realized this too late.

We traveled on everything from super hiways to one lane mud roads to nearly nothing during the trip.
