LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Once the Texans were programmed we were able to start the deployment. By the time we got packed up and made it from the warehouse to the southernmost section of the route we were only able to deploy about a dozen Texans before it got too dark and confusing. The photographs below are from the following morning.

Along this section of the deployment route the Texans were placed right next to the road. The road is part of the Old Santa Cruz Highway. Not that we thought any honest, hard working, American would do such a thing, but we buried the Texans along this stretch to keep them from getting run over by cars.

Driving conditions varied. This experiment was once delayed because of rain. I can see why. For most of the route we were able to keep the vehicles -- and the equipment -- close to where they needed to be for deployment.

We drove on everything from dirt trails to bike/jogging trails.
