STATION SAVE PART 2

This should really be part 3.  I was working at the Asau site the day that...

It may look small, and it was, but the grey portion of the hole in the picture below took a whole day to line up equipment for and then dig with a pneumatic jack hammer.  The whole area where we put the station was a layer of large rocks, then some dirt and large rocks, and then solid basalt -- lava.

With enough of a hole dug to hold the barrel everything shifted into high gear.  Guys that worked for the forestry division came out of the woodwork -- I mean the jungle.  At times it was fun just trying to get them to slow down a bit.

Voila!  Since the bottom of this barrel was anchored in cement in lava there was a pretty good chance of having great coupling here.

We cleaned off the equipment, covered everything up, and headed for our fales in Manase.

However, before we left, we had a beer, or two, and relaxed on the porch.  The view from the floor was kind of nice.
