Description:

We would like to borrow PASSCAL's Geode seismic system to use for lab exercise for undergraduate course called Earth's Interior. The course will be offered this fall in the department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Northwestern University. The system will be used to acquire refraction seismic data to map the depth to bedrock on the university campus in Evanston, IL. The students will have the opportunity to acquire seismic data using a hammer source and then use the data in lab to understand basic concepts of seismic wave propagation and what that information can tell us about the subsurface.
