AGU 2012 PASSCAL Data Archiving Workshop

December 2, 2012
San Francisco-Palomar Hotel

An IRIS PASSCAL data-archiving workshop will be offered prior to the 2012 Fall AGU meeting in San Francisco. This workshop will serve as an opportunity to help PIs and archivers familiarize themselves with the data group, the support provided by the data group, and the software utilized in the archival process.

We will outline best practices for archiving PASSCAL data sets in order to aid PIs and archivers in efficiently transforming raw data and meta-data into an archivable format. New PASSCAL users who are unfamiliar with the archival process, and those who simply wish for a refresher course are especially encouraged to attend this one day workshop.

IRIS PASSCAL staff will discuss passive-source data archiving in the morning and controlled-source data archiving in the afternoon. Participants will be required to supply a Mac or Linux laptop.  All participants should have a basic working knowledge of UNIX structure and commands. Questions regarding the workshop should be directed to data_group [at] passcal [dot] nmt [dot] edu.

This free workshop is offered by the PASSCAL data group. The deadline for applying to attend is October 31st, 2012.

Workshop Link is now closed.
