Building a parameter file

Your Question:
Hi all! I'm building a parameter file for data archiving, and I'm looking at an example that I was given when I was there for training. My question concerns the lines 4-7 of the parameter file, which in this example read: sensor sts2_gl 0 0001 axis Z 0 0 - 1 0 axis N 0 90 - 2 1 axis E 90 90 - 3 1 Presumably, these lines refer to a sts2 sensor. However I'm using the Guralp 3Ts. My questions: 1) what is the sensor code for the T3? 2) what are the axis definitions for the T3? Thanks -Christian Poppeliers

Howdy Christian, the CMG3T is listed as a "cmg3t" in the batch file (I think you mean batch file as opposed to pf) and has the same axis statements as the sts2.

RT2MS

Your Question:
I would like to use rt2ms to go from reftek to ascii, but am having trouble running it in Terminal on MAC. After using the following commands- cd /opt/passcal/bin followed by- ./rt2ms I am getting the error- PASSCAL environment not set! Can not continue I am new to MAC so any help appreciated? Also, once I get this error solved, how exactly does rt2ms work to go from reftek to ascii and what command is used on Terminal?

REFTEK to ASCII

Your Question:
I have REFTEK data from an RT130 and am trying to convert it into a readable ASCII format. I already have the PASSOFT folder on my MAC. I was wondering what was the best way to convert from REFTEK to ASCII? I was told that I can not go from REFTEK to ASCII, but rather go from REFTEK-SEGY and then SEGY-ASCII. The PASSOFT folder has several files and need a point in the right direction. Regards.

Compile C-Files on Windows

Your Question:
I downloaded the PASSCAL folder from your software website onto my MAC. I then have been trying to compile 'ref2segy.c' and 'segy2asc.c' files using Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 6.0 on my PC. When I go to compile each, I get an error telling me that certain files cannot be found. These files include- sys/types.h sys/applieapiopts.h sys/cdefs.h sys/ioctl.h suds.h segy.h The first 5 are for 'ref2segy.c' and the last 1 is for 'segy.h'. Any advice would be great. Regards. CO

Your Question:
I could not find the way to use rt2ms to transform only part of an archive (some specific das number or some specific time frame) into mseed. Is this possible?
